What’s involved

Here you will delve deeper into the human body and really understand what happens under specific physical training techniques whether its muscle building or you are competing in a specific event. Analyses of advanced training systems are studied to really help appreciate what occurs from a physiological point of view so your clients can achieve what they want.

You will learn about effective nutritional strategies and up-to-date research findings so you and your clients can achieve optimal health.

Personal Trainers use exercise science and modern training methods to design, instruct and educate clients in order to achieve specific and measurable goals. Client screening, consultation, and session evaluation are also key elements in Personal Training.

Level 2 Fitness Instructing

  • Unit1: Anatomy and Physiology for Exercise.
  • Unit2: Know how to support clients who take part in exercise and physical activity.
  • Unit3: Health, Safety and welfare in a fitness environment.
  • Unit4: Principles of Exercise, Fitness and Health.
  • Unit5: Planning Gym based Exercise.
  • Unit6: Instructing Gym Based Exercise.

Level 3 Personal Training

  • Unit1: Anatomy and Physiology for Exercise in Health.
  • Unit2: Applying the Principles of Nutrition to a Physical Activity Programme.
  • Unit3: Planning Personal Training Sessions.
  • Unit4: Delivering Personal Training Sessions.

Study options

As most students start without a previous Level 2 Fitness Instruction qualification, as standard this is included as a foundation to our Level 3 Personal Trainer course. Contact us for information on studying the Level 3 qualification individually. The study options for this course are:

  • 1-2-1 study: A qualified Personal Trainer based at one of our satellite centres around the UK will personally guide you through the course combined with home study and e-learning. Generally this takes a minimum of 6 weeks. Find out more about this study method.

 

  • Blended learning (part-time): A mixture of classroom and gym teaching, blended learning gives you a good mix of practical and theoretical teaching at our centre of excellence near Manchester, plus the ability to qualify in just 6 weekends. Find out more about this study method. Here your tutor obtains a MSc in Strength and Conditioning and is an active Personal Trainer himself.

 

  • Full Time: If you want to qualify quickly, and you have the time to commit, then full time could be the study option for you. You’ll spend 6 weeks Monday-Friday studying in the classroom and in the gym at our centre of excellence.  Find out more about this study method. Here your tutor obtains a MSc in Strength and Conditioning and is an active Personal Trainer himself.
